I’m really looking forward to joining the team at Hawthorn Dental Practice and would like to take this opportunity to introduce myself.

I qualified as a Dental Hygienist at the Eastman Dental Hospital in 1987 and have over 25 years of experience working as a Dental Hygienist. I have worked in many Dental settings including private and general practice both in the West End and locally , Dental Hospitals and Community Dentistry.

My approach is to always be gentle and understanding and to give all information possible about treatment which needs to be done. I am very aware that many patients have tooth sensitivity and I always take this into consideration before I start your treatment.

To get the most of seeing a hygienist it is important to know that we need to work as a team – there is always some homework for you! It may be to floss, interdental brushes, a new brushing technique or maybe even a mouthwash. This will contribute to your improved oral health – in this day and age when there is a proven link between gum disease and heart disease it could benefit your general health also.

A little extra about me – I live fairly locally and have brought up 4 children. My hobbies are Rock Climbing and Mountaineering and I also work as a climbing instructor! A very lucky lady – I have two jobs that I love.
